In the movie, Anne Frank: The Whole Story, it shows a dramatization of the life of Anne Frank during World War II. It shows how her life changed from the normal life of living at home to living in a secret annex to living in a concentration camp. It’s a sad, but good example of how the Holocaust tore many families apart. Anne Frank, along with her family, lived a normal life at first. Her mom, Edith, her dad, Otto, and her sister, Margot, enjoyed life until many laws passed that prohibited the Jews to do to do many things. Otto realizes that he has to go into hiding long before his family knows. He asks Meip Gies for help to supply them with their necessities in a attic like house on top of Otto’s office. Otto had realized that the Nazis weren’t going to stop until all the Jews were vanquished. He took action by scheduling when they were going to move in. Later on, the franks receive a summoning letter to a concentration camp to Margot. This is when they all realize what they have to do. Edith tells Anne and Margot that it is a summoning letter to their father. Everyone starts to pack up and gets ready to leave into hiding. Everyone can’t take everything so they take their most important things and Miep and her husband help take things to the secret annex. Anne takes most of her things like her movie star pictures. Anne has to leave most her life behind, like her friends and her cat. Anne realizes how hard it is to leave her current life behind. When they make it to the secret annex, they set up everything and shelter themselves. Everything is fine. Everything and everyone has to get used to living in this confined home. A little after, the Van Pels start living with the Franks and a little while after that, Mr. Pfeffer starts to live with this as well. They learn to deal with themselves and have to live with each other’s difficulties, like Anne’s annoying comments, and the Van Pels constantly arguing. They have lived with each other for 24 months and finally something tragic happens. Some people get suspicious about Jews living in the office and get scared that the Gestapo will get them in trouble. A lady gives the Gestapo an anonymous tip about the Jews being inside the office. The police break into the secret annex and arrest the Jews. They are all sent to a concentration camp under the term as being criminals. They eventually make it to the camp and are put to work right away. They men and women get separated. The Franks, Van Pels, and Pfeffers are sent to the death camp Auschwitz and there the women get mistreated the most. One by one the main character dies. They die of starvation, gas chambers, distraught, and other malnutrition related diseases. Except for Otto Frank. Otto survives and makes it back to his office where Miep gives Otto Anne’s Diary and other documents. From there, Otto publishes the book and the book becomes famous worldwide. It was a miracle that Otto had survived, and that the diary was saved by Miep. It has became a very popular book.
