In the name of the most high Allah, most merciful. Note that there has been no change in the cost of performing hajj this year. The cost remains unchanged at 3450USD. Hajj is an international transaction done in foreign currency and not in Gh cedis. Therefore the cost of performing Hajj is the same as last year but the value in GHC is not the same. The cedi which under the management of all Ghanaian governments has been depreciating can explain but not justify the difference in value. For those who want to do politics with it, whether in NPP, NDC OR CPP let them convince you first before you take them serious how their leaders or themselves can stabilize and make the cedi appreciate against the dollar in future if given another chance. The only thing new in the world is the history you dont know. Harry T.S For the records, available data show that in 3yrs(2005-2008) the cost of hajj minus the chaos, sleeping and defecating in the open increased by about $1310 and in 6yrs(2008-2014) the cost of hajj plus the relative comfort and dignity now has increased by about $500.
