In the olden days, the King of a kingdom that can besiege another - TopicsExpress

In the olden days, the King of a kingdom that can besiege another is revered not just by his subjects but by other Kingdoms, especially the ones (a Kingdom and its subjects) captured through war. Amongst their intent is to show case the glory and superiority of their Kingdom over another and other non-human dignifying economic values such as subjection to slavery. Some kingdoms out of fear usually come and submit to such king. Babylon was a great Kingdom that no one or Kingdom can stand around 627BC. Its (Babylonian) boundaries reached as far as Cilicia in the north to Egypt and Arabia in the south, and from Cyprus and the Mediterranean coastal cities in the west to Media and Persia in the east. Daniel was a slave in Babylon, but rather than be treated like a slave and subject him to slavery treatment, the reverse became the case. This is testimony of his captures and his profile in a land where he should be treated like a slave. Daniel 5:10-12 … don’t be alarmed! Don’t look so pale! There is a man in your Kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom like that of the gods… was found to have a keen mind and knowledge and understanding and also the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel…. Though a slave he was the sure solution to the national issues in Babylon. He outlived many Kings that ruled Babylon and was instrumental to the successful reign of many kings in the area of solving national issues. He (Daniel) solved a national issue for King Nebuchadnezzar, the second King of Babylon, under whom the Babylonian empire reached its height of glory. In all his sovereignty and the sovereignty of his Kingdom; then King Nebuchadnezzar fell prostrate (lying on the ground and facing downwards) before Daniel and paid him honour and ordered that an offering and incense be presented to him. Daniel 2:46. “Daniel has till today set a record that no one even citizens of a country have been able break, let alone a slave.” Can I not be like Daniel, whom the king that took him captive from Judah fell prostrate before? (Daniel 2:46; 5:13). During the reign of King Darius, the third king that ruled Babylon from the time he was taken as captive to Babylon. He knew if he was going to do well and not suffer loss, Daniel should serve as a Prime minister, and this required constitution amendment. The value King Darius placed on Daniel’s life (a slave) was more than the value the King placed on the lives and the lives of the families of his two administrators and 120 Satraps. Which in our modern days, could mean governors and senators. Without considering/minding his back ground and the national risk such decision posed to the nation. What made Daniel, Daniel? That even after 2,640 years no one has been able to set a new World, Continental or even a National record? As insecurity, unemployment, youth restiveness has become a challenge to our country; can it not be said in my Local Government, State level or even National level, call for Prince? This is the difference between me and Daniel. …Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before (Daniel 6:10). He lived a life style of prayer and above all thanksgiving/praise. He chose prayer and thanksgiving to God even over his life and I the opposite. In my day-to-day do list there is no praise time. Devotion is trying to know the mind of God and fellowship with him, which sometimes I hurry out of. Yes there may be praise time during devotion-ceremonial devotion praise. No quality praise from within which I sometimes do with heavy eyes and wobbling lips. This is the change I must effect. A life style of ingratitude destroys Malachi 2:1-3 … if you will not lay it heart to give glory to my name… I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings…. This is how furious God gets each time we don’t praise- build Him a house. Importance of praise: 1. It is the dwelling place of God and his delight. Psalms 22:3 but you are holy; O You inhabits (to live in a particular place) the praises of Israel (KJV). This means that God lives in our praise. The more we praise the more he abides with us. Psalms 69:30-31. 2. It secures increase and God’s blessings upon our endeavors. …then shall the earth yield her increase/harvest…Psalms 67:5-7. There must be a platform(s) through which I can be traced. Such platforms can be skill in a particular area or areas. To stay on top I will have to find out first-hand what people are yet to know in that particular field. The Holy Spirit, prayer, praise and skills, are sure ways for kings to send for me and bow to me.
