In the ongoing Durga Shakti Nagpal (IAS) episode, one voice that has not been heard so far is that of the Muslim community of Kadalpur Gaon in Greater Noida, upon whom a grave charge of land grab to construct a mosque is leveled. (ASIDE: Mosques on grabbed property is unauthorized and illegal according to Islamic law, and Islamic jurists have opined that prayer in such a mosque is invalid and Muslims should not pray there) Samajwadi Party and present UP Government in their attempt to kill two birds with one stone have appropriated the blame of the whole episode on the shoulder of this community to justify the illegal suspension of an upright officer who was diligently and bravely discharging her duty to break the backbone of illegal sand mining mafia operating in the area. In one of the media reports a certain Mansour Ahmad of the village was quoted as telling that the boundary wall was pulled down by the villagers themselves when the SDM explained that its construction is unauthorized. I wonder if there exists a committee, a mutawalli who in his silence is inadvertently contributing to the campaign to discredit the whole community. With this post I call upon all my Friends in the media, Muslim Intellectuals, people of eminence from the community to join me in forming a Fact Finding Team and plan a visit to the village so that this annoying silence of the Kadalpur Muslims is broken and the ugly face of Samajwadi party is exposed. If need be and if the village elders, mutawalli of the committee agree this exercise can be followed up by a press conference where media can directly hear from the people in whose name the slimy politicians are furthering their own selfish agenda.
