In the reckless days of my youth, I have been thrown out of a couple of bars, a liquor store and was asked to leave a certain cat house in Texas for complaining about the quality of the women working there. But Ive never been thrown out of a hobby shop till today. I went into the Hobby Marketplace in Bradenton to participate in their 30% off sale. After browsing for about 10 minutes with the other customers, I was confronted by one of the owners, Erica Smentowski, and asked if I was there doing recon for my boyfriend. I assured her that I was single and said I was there for the 30% off sale. She then said I had a lot of nerve coming in there after all the bad press they have gotten on Facebook. When I told her I never wrote anything about them on the internet, she said I had pushed the like button and that was enough for her and that she wasnt going to sell me anything and she wanted me out of her store. As I was walking out, the other owner Jim Smentowski who had not said anything until after his wife confronted me (I guess I know who wears the BALLS in that relationship) gave an exaggerated wave and kept saying GOOD BYE,GOOD BYE. So as I left I wished them luck in their future and got the response of BULLSHIT you dont mean that, I have to admit I didnt but I thought I should take the High Road and say it anyway. Ive always heard the two of them say they are good business people and good Christians but verbally assaulting a customer in front of others in their store is not good business and certainally not Christian behavior. I cant tell you to not go to the Hobby Marketplace, they are in self destruct mode and probably wont be around much longer, but if you do go there beware that your opinions on social media may get you assaulted and kicked out.
