In the run in to the much anticipated 2015 presidential elections, - TopicsExpress

In the run in to the much anticipated 2015 presidential elections, Iv been greeted with pieces on various social media- pieces I consider baseless, bias, and lacking reliable facts. Points to ponder; 1. For those who claim that GEJ is the person anointed by God to lead Nigeria in the next 4 years, I do not doubt the fact that God anoints individuals to lead a nation, but up till now, I am yet to see or hear any of those claiming so show me a concrete authority who or where God revealed this to, and thats not mentioning the fact that so-called men of God always do their best to take advantage of pre-election periods like this with false predictions of outcome in order to gain cheap popularity. 2. Even if we want to believe the claim of Gods anointed leader, mainly because GMB is a muslim and GEJ a supposed Christian, I am forced to ask, who confirms and what qualifies GEJ a christain, and also, on what basis?, is it because his name is Goodluck- which is an english word, or cos his second name is jonathan which is Hebrew?. If you think names alone determines someones religion, then I think your standards are faulty and needs to be adressed. Plus GMB could as well change his name to Micheal Stephen, and automatically he becomes a christain and hence Gods anointed to lead. 3. For those who claim GMB is a Haramite and is responsible for the babaric attacks on the nigerian populace, why is GEJ not doing what is expected of him with all the aparatus at his disposal as the president, to bring GMB and all those acused overtime of involvement to justice. Plus, GEJ is the CinC of 1 of the greatest armed force the world can boast of, yet Boko Haram still seems to be winning the battle and taking over teritories in our own country, creating a country within a country-something that has never happened before in our history. 4. Also a point to note is the implication of the GEJ-led armed forces/governments failure to bring an end to the insurgency in the North/East which has led to the displacement of over a million nigerians who have either fled to neighboring countries or found new homes in surrounding states, hence making them ineligible to vote in the elections unless they return to their originally registered zone as the electoral law states that you can only vote where you were registered, and unless they return, they can not participate. Bare in mind that this over a million eligible voters is from a region where we know GMB enjoys a considerable amount of sympathy and followership, now, you do the math. At this point, one would not be totally wrong to think that the battle against insurgency in the North/East has failed because of a deliberate plot to disenfranchise as many Nigerians as possible where the opposition is expected to win-just adding 1 and 1 together. Dont get me wrong, I am not a supporter of GMB/APC, neither am I a supporter of GEJ/PDP, I am just an advocate of value based politics and a dream for a new Nigeria we can all be proud of. I strongly advocate that our focus stand in elections be shifted from this religious and ethnic based politics to facts and leadership capacity based, because evidently the former has failed us as a nation.
