In the scope of project SEICHE - Seismicity of Plate Interiors - Challenges for Hazard Evaluation, the Seismological Lab at IST, Lisbon, Portugal, is opening a post-doc position in Paleoseismology/Active Tectonics. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics or other relevant area, and must also have research experience in the identification and characterization of active geological structures. The target area is the Lower Tagus Valley, near Lisbon. Previous experience in seismic hazard assessment is a preferential condition, as well as experience in geomorphological analysis. The contract is for a period of 12 months, starting around May 2014, and may be renewed for an additional period of 12 months. Monthly stipend is 1495 euros. SEICHE is a line of excellence project supported by the Portuguese research foundation FCT.
