In the wake of such devastating news here in FNQ and the aftermath - TopicsExpress

In the wake of such devastating news here in FNQ and the aftermath of that horrible day in Sydney, I am going to share my Good News story. When my baby. Courtney Upton was 15 and in Year 10 she came to Geoff and I and told us that she wanted to leave school at the end of the year. I was shocked as I always thought she would finish in Year 12. She told us her plan of going to TAFE for 1 year to get a Diploma in Event Management. Then moving to the Gold Coast where she would go to Griffith University to study for a Bachelor of Business (Hotel, Tourism, Event, Real Estate and Property and Sport), Majoring in Event Management. She had done her research, spoken with the school counsellor looked up TAFE and Unis and that was that. We listened to her and totally trusted her. She knew what she wanted and there is no way we or anyone else was going to get in her way. So three years later and two of them living away from home and with a lot of hard work and determination on her part she has done it!!!! Not only has she done it she has already worked on many Major Events in Sydney and on the Gold Coast! Thankyou to Cathy Dimon, from Loftus TAFE who besides being a beautiful friend of ours is also Head Teacher for Travel and Events. Your advice and help when Courts wanted to follow her dream was invaluable. Also thankyou to Taylor Rolfe, and his family Jan Healy, Tara Brooke, Jason Tait, Tait Rolfe and Casey. Also to my SIL Tara Gonzales-Judd. You have all been a great surrogate family for my baby and I really appreciate you all being there for her :) Courtney Alyce Upton, you have always amazed me and always will. Love you INFINITY XXXXXXXXX PS If your child has a dream, help them follow it!!!!!
