In the world today, there is a strong desire to stop the aging - TopicsExpress

In the world today, there is a strong desire to stop the aging process, as we idolize the concept of youth. Comments like, “you look just the same”, are taken as a compliment -even though it implies (tongue in cheek) that you have stopped growing..:) We vie to look like our teenage daughters/ sons and love it when people say, “you don’t look like her mother/ his father. You could easily pass off as siblings.” (We forget that our children want the parents to be parents and play that role well- without trying to compete with them for compliments.) Wishing for the clock to turn back or slow down in an era that pays homage to “fast” life, is not very easy or desirable. It is like wanting to hold on to a past, which continues to slip away. It also makes us deny our present truth and we are forced to live a lie (along with its accompanying complications). Can we stop time from ticking in this Mrityulok? Can we stop the recycling process of the five elements; our body (and this planet) is made up of? Instead of trying to do that, when we revel in the power of now, each moment becomes more wonderful than the moment before it…..after all it carries the wisdom (and beauty) of the previous moment within it. Hamne bhi baal dhoop mein safed nahin kiye hain…we have collected a lot of experiential wisdom along the way……..It is time to own, appreciate and be proud of that wisdom…..Only then can we pass it on to the future generations….We OWE it to them…..and to ourselves.
