In the year 2000, I was working in the Media Center at Columbus North. I felt a little scared about going in to a new century. I had only known the 1900s and it all felt very strange. I wasnt sure that I was going to get familiar with 2000 very quickly. I had lived 52 years and just didnt know how I had gotten to that age so fast. I remember thinking that I had a lot of living that I hoped to do and wondered what the years would bring to me and my family. I couldnt fathom 2014. I still cant! 14 years past 2000. We had this little grandson, who we adored. I wanted him to stay little forever. That didnt happen. He is 18 now! Where did that come from? Our own children were little, just yesterday! Its the aging I want to slow down. Im grateful, and thank God, for every day of my life and for all of my family and friends. Many family members and friends have gone on before me. I miss them. They may not be here, but I still hold a spot for each of them. I just want to slow down and think for a little while. 2014, Where did that come from?
