In this same vein, these are the remnants of Night Drive and Wyndegal of Wilmington (early 1970s). We put this band together for the 40th reunion of the John T. Hoggard Class of 1973, which happened last September. All of us were members of that graduating class, with the exception of the keyboard player, who graduated a couple of years later. There was a very active band scene in Wilmington back then, starting with Charlie Daniels and the Jaguars and Buddy Skipper and the Jetty Jumpers in the 50s. In addition to the aforementioned bands, there were Spirit Wheel, Flight, Benefit, and many others. Many people know of Sidewinder, the great cover band of the 80s, also from Wilmington. Audley Freed (Peter Frampton, Black Crows, Dixie Chicks, Cry of Love, etc.) was a member of Sidewinder and grew up near Monkey Junction (what a great band name Monkey Junction would have been!). We all stood in the same stream, and I personally think Wilmington is underrepresented on this page! Maybe some of the other guys will chime in soon. : )
