In this time of technology and social media, it has become common to see youth walking around all day with their heads lowered and eyes steadily looking into their phones. Checking their texts, tweets, whatsapp messages, instagram, etc. Every five minutes we look into our phones PRAYING we dont miss one message or notification. Imagine if we had that same zeal towards looking into the mushaf. Test yourself with this. Any time you get, any opportunity that present itself, look into your mushaf. Maybe you have some time in between classes at school? read a few surahs or an entire page if possible. Lunch break at work? Why not take 15mins of that break and just read the kalaam of your lord. So many of us say, “I have no time ot read or memorize”, but the reality is that you make time for facebook, twitter, tumblr, etc. while on a busy schedule. Can you seriously tell me you have NO time throughout a 24hr day, to read and memorize the speech of your lord? Even if it is just a little? From personal experience, I can tell you that taking these little opportunities you have throughout the day to review the Quran makes the difference between merely knowing a surah and having it engraved into your very heart. So before you check your phone, check your mushaf. Look into it, read it, contemplate on it.
