Incontinence Tip: Tight Pelvis Two main goals may help calm incontinence: 1. Decrease inflammation of elimination organs (kidneys, bladder, urethra) 2. Increase length of muscles and nerves surrounding elimination organs. 1. Is managed with a (clear, bland diet, IC diet, a diet with no artificial colors / flavors or preservatives) and such 2. May be managed by placing a ball on the floor and resting on it so it massages your belly and lower pelvis. Begin gently with a rubber ball while on your hands and knees so you control the pressure. This should not hurt. Be gentle with your body. A Thera Cane may also be used to massage deep into the pelvis and belly to relax tight muscles. The goal is to relax the pelvis so muscles and nerves work together so the bladder is able to empty completely instead of urgency and frequency.
