Increasing the drama of combat. I wonder if perhaps something that could happen in any sort of LARP combat is that the initial stages of the fight remain competitive as they are...and that is what determines the fight outcome but at some sort of easily noted signal (even telling the opponent) a fight instead turns into show with the outcome already determined. Example: Two fighters with 4 life each face off...they fight cagily and competitively until one is defeated, having lost 4 life. Their opponent is wounded but at that stage has lost only 2 life. Knowing this and signalled by the loser saying something (You have beaten me, Whatever) they now engage in a roleplayed combat scene that demonstrates this outcome during which any blows do not change the outcome. The defeated warrior curses and charges, sword high overhead and swings wildly, only for the winner to drop to a knee and sweep a wide arcing blow across the belly of the approaching warrior who falls to the ground, defeated if not dead. This will increase the RP and drama of combat. It may only work in 1vs1 without practice and can be as extreme or not as people like or are comfortable with given the specific opponent they are facing and is similar to what is done in Grey Co Show Combat in many ways.
