India At 70th Spot Among Hoarders In Swiss BanksThe annual data of all banks in Switzerland was released by the Swiss National Bank on june 23,2013.As per the data, India has slipped to the 70th position in terms of monetary assets lying with the Swiss banks. India now accounts for a meagre 0.10 percent of total global wealth held in the Switzerland banking system.The total money owed by Swiss banks to Indian clients amounted to 1.42 billion jSwiss francs (about Rs. 9,000 crore). India now has the lowest rank among all major economies in the world in this regard. The country was ranked 55th for such funds a year ago (in 2011) with a total amount of 2.18 billion) Swiss francs belonging to Indian individuals.The UK was on top among countries and territories in terms of wealth hoarded with the Swiss banking system. It is followed by the US, West Indies, Jersey, Guernsey, Germany, France, Bahamas, Cayman Islands and Hong Kong.
