India Club to organise first Carrom League / 7 October 2013 Are you fingers faster than lightening? One of the worlds most popular leisure sport is now running in the big leagues. From October 13 to November 9 the India Club will play host to Dubai’s first Carrom Premier League. This event will invite eager carrom players and teams to try their luck against each other all for a chance to win the ultimate carrom champions trophy and prizes valued up to Dh20,000. The Emax Carrom Premier league is the brainchild of Dubai’s Avant garde creative content company, 56 Blue Lights in association with the International Carrom Federation that was established in 1988 and celebrating their silver jubilee this year. “For a sport that is so widely followed and played, it’s surprising as to the number of competitive platforms it has,” says Yamini Menon, Managing Director of 56 Blue Lights. “We want to change that and give amateur and professional players a chance to really show off their skills in a fun competitive environment” adds Menon. It that isn’t enough, the league aims to connect with Dubai’s large blue collar masses by offering a free tournament that will take place in one of the labour camps in Dubai.
