#India #Cricket During the late 1880s and 90s, the Mumbais Parsi communitys bowling attack depended more upon a six foot tall pace bowler named Mehellasa Pavri. He was a doctor by profession, but cricket had been his passion. History suggests that Pavri was pacey and very accurate and was able to send a bail flying 49 yards. In 1889-90 G F Vernons team from England discovered how fast and lethal Pavri could be! His 7 for 34 in the second innings was an exhibition of high profile fast bowling. Was Pavri the first cricketing hero from Mumbai and the Indian subcontinent? Perhaps?
