India Prefab 2014 is currently taking place at IEI Dehradun. The focus is on rehabilitation of those affected by cloud burst in Uttarakhand in 2013. The use of innovative technologies is being promoted. Thinvent is proud to be the Rural ICT partner of the conference. We believe that rehabilitation must go beyond housing and also provide people with a means of livelihood. Information Technology is key to providing education, training, employment opportunities and access to government services. Thinvent is demonstrating two products at the event. One is our solar powered touchscreen e-information kiosk that brings governance to every village. Second is a solar powered computer lab kit for schools in remote areas. We are tying up with NGOs to set up model centers in remote areas of Uttarakhand. These will serve as reference points for those who would like to carry out larger roll-outs. The equipment will be housed in prefabricated ferrocement structures being discussed and demonstrated at the event. Looking forward to your support in this endeavour...
