Indian Cricket debacle - where we should go ? 1. Inspirational leadership: Lack of inspiring leaders in BCCI. 2. Long term vision and plans of BCCI : Lack of long term vision and planning and execution of the strategy to make a balance of instant or glamorous T20 cricket and the classic test cricket 3. Everybody wants money and cricketers are no exception. Our cricketers have completely adopted to the form of instant pleasure T20 cricket as it has so much money. Where is the opportunity of playing classic cricket ? Playing Brute force T20 cricket is the priority. Of course the crowd and peoples attraction has made it so. It is the leaders governing cricket that should strike the balance. 3. Why are Indian cricket players no more playing English county cricket ? The Gavaskars and the ilk and the bowlers then were playing county cricket honing their skills. 4. The press must not just indulge in short term news of pinnacles and nadirs but make a balance long term news coverage as well. 5. Taking a leaf out of Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United and 16 years Australina success: Can we take some pages from Australia success that ruled cricket for 16 years ? And the great success story of Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United and how he mixed youth and experience and planned successions is a classic case to emulate by BCCI and not just the cricketers themselves. The knowledgeable sports journalists like Ravi Sastri, Gavaskar, Harsha Bogle need to balance between long term strategy and short term successes in cricket as well while giving their public views. Let the country including cricketers, its administrators, the ex-players, the professional and ex-cricketer journalists, the people of India at large and the BCCI all work together if we want to enjoy all round Cricket success throughout the year. Let us not make cricket Lions at home and lambs abroad !
