Indian rupee opens weaker at 60.30 /USD The Indian rupee opened weaker at 60.30 per USD as against its previous close of 60.20 on account of strengthening of the US dollar against other currencies in the overseas markets. However, the rupee soon retraced to 60.10 levels due to a higher opening in the local equities coupled with dollar selling by exporters but gave up some of its gains after losing momentum as banks and importers started buying dollars. The government will release the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) data after 5.30pm today. A Bloomberg poll showed that the industrial output for May is likely to be at 3.5% as against 3.4% in April.
