"Indian troops massacring innocent Kashmiris" Gilani calls for march towards Shopian tomorrow Srinagar, September 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, have appealed to the international community to take cognisance of the fact that Indian troops are continuously engaged in the massacring of innocent Kashmiris. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar terming the recent killing of four youth in Shopian a cold-blooded murder demanded arrest of the involved troops. He said the killings had punctured the tall claims of the puppet regime that Kashmir was peaceful. Syed Ali Gilani in his statement condemning the incident urged the people of Shopian, Islamabad, Kulgam and Pulwama districts to march towards Shopian town, tomorrow, to protest the killings.Senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, addressing a meeting of his party activists in Srinagar said that India was carrying out the genocide of the Kashmiris. He said that the killing of youth in Gool, Pulwama, Shopian and the communal riots in Kishtwar were proof of the fact that New Delhi was acting on a policy to change the demography of the territory. APHC leader, Javed Ahmed Mir, during his meeting with the visiting team of Amnesty International urged it to take notice of the Kashmiris’ killings. Other Hurriyet leaders including Muhammad Azam Inqilabi, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Ghulam Ahmed Mir, Dr Ghulam Muhammad Ganai and Farida Behenji in their statements and the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir, Muhammad Abdullah Wani, addressing the annual convention of the Jammat in Gandarbal also condemned the Shopian killings. Member of Indian Parliament and President of Janta Dal (United), Sharad Yadav, addressing a public meeting in Srinagar while expressing shock over the killing of four youth in Shopian admitted that there was not an iota of doubt in this fact that the people of occupied Kashmir had been and were being immensely harassed and suppressed. Meanwhile, curfew remained in force in Shopian town for the third successive day, today, to prevent people from holding demonstrations against the killings. A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement visited Manchewa area of Chadoora and expressed solidarity with the family of Iqbal Sheikh, who was injured in the firing of CRPF personnel at Badshah Chowk in Srinagar on Saturday. A large number of people including Hurriyet leaders Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, Musaddiq Aadil and Syed Bashir Andrabi attended the funeral prayers of the mother of APHC leader, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, in Islamabad town.
