Indianapolis, IN - Student Captain Terry Muhammad and FOI of Muhammad’s Mosque #74, in Indianapolis, Indiana implement park gatherings as another maneuver towards reaching our people. “We initially wanted to hit Hawthorne Street because there was another killing in that area. So we went to Hawthorne Apartments. When we got there, we saw that no one was out. So that’s when we decided to go to West Montgomery Park, which is in the same area. And that’s where we noticed many of our people hanging out.” Says Captain Terry Muhammad He also states that the FOI at Mosque #74 haven’t stopped doing the ‘Our Work is in the Street’ Saturday detail. When the Minister began travelling the country, which prevented him from leading the men into the streets on some Monday nights, we never stopped going out into the field on Saturday.” I asked Student Captain Terry does going into the community in very humid weather, with no food or drink effect the spirit and enthusiasm of the men? He quickly responded, “Not in a negative way. We believe in fasting, especially the month of Ramadan. But we also believe in soldiering, especially in the month of Ramadan.”
