Indigenous Islam in America called out America and called to Allah and His Messenger (PBUH). American - Islam calls Muslims to whatever values the white elites with money, influence and power deem acceptable and changes the Deen to please said elites. In the end theyll be lonely never getting the acceptance they were desperate for and losing their base. Muslim - culture in America was created by African-Americans in Brooklyn, Harlem, Newark, Philly, DC and other places long before any collectives or institutes. An American aqeedah is a deviancy fueled by white-privalege. There are no nationalistic aqeedahs in Islam. I wouldnt waste one precious minute in Ramadan listening to any lecture by a celebrity imam not at least ten years old and preferably 15. Hard to find though as followers have scrubbed YouTube of many old lectures. Better to download the so many good Quran, hadith, and knowledge apps. Find a jamaat. Stay away from extremes. All groups have extremists. From moon - siting extremists starting their fast on the 31st of Shaban, to blind - followers of Saudia, to those who make idols of their sheikhs, to ISIS headchoppers to those promoting a TED-TALK compliant hipster Islam. The Middle - Path never been harder to find. More important than anything big. Anything major. Any millionaire imam. Any conference. Any movement. Is just having a handful of Muslim friends you can fellowship with and trust and grow in the Deen with. A Tribe. Every believer need a tribe. Ramadan is about growing closer to Allah and serving others. Yet it is also a communal month. No man is an island and you cant have jummah by yourself. Pray for Palestine. Pray for Iraq. Pray for Syria. Pray for the CAR. Thoughts before a hopeful sleep. not arguing or discussing anything in this post. Just said what I said and it is what it is. Ramadan Mubarak.
