Untuk semester 1 di tahun 2014 ini, angka perjalanan sudah mencapai 107 juta dengan total pengeluaran mencapai Rp 76,16 triliun, ungkap Menteri Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif Mari Elka Pangestu, di Jakarta, Senin (1/9/2014). Data dari BPS dan Pusdatin Kemenparekraf tersebut membuat Mari yakin bahwa target perjalanan wisnus di akhir 2014 akan tercapai. Dengan capaian tersebut, saya kira target sebesar 255 juta di akhir 2014 dapat tercapai, ungkapnya. Ia optimis karena pada semester kedua biasanya angka perjalanan wisnus dipastikan meningkat. Semester kedua itu waktunya orang-orang pergi liburan di akhir tahun, mereka banyak melakukan perjalanan wisata. Belum lagi adanya pagelaran event daerah baik yang berskala nasional maupun internasional yang dikemas dalam paket wisata, tambahnya. Senada dengan Mari, Ketua Badan Promosi Pariwisata Indonesia (BPPI) Yanti Sukamdani menambahkan bahwa paket wisata yang beragam dapat menjadi pilihan wisnus karena menawarkan pengalaman perjalanan yang unik. Paket wisata yang ditawarkan travel agent sudah banyak sekali, bahkan belakangan ada paket wisata menarik yaitu paket wisata blusukan, ujar Yanti dengan tawa. Paket-paket wisata itu lah yang kemudian menjadi pilihan perjalanan yang dapat menjadi daya tarik wisnus. Selain itu, upaya promosi langsung di pasar-pasar utama juga akan dilakukan termasuk kerjasama dengan maskapai penerbangan untuk meningkatkan kunjungan wisnus.
