Ingenius Theatre visited school on 25th September with their replica World War one ambulance and play about the changing roles of women during the war. Being an ambulance driver must have taken a lot of courage, as they had to drive through shelling across muddy ground, or along roads which had been mined, and often in the dark with no headlights. They had to pick up wounded men from the front lines and deliver them to railway stations where they could be transported to safer locations for treatment.
