Ingram Sowell Elementary is experiencing a great year with our emphasis upon school improvement, academic growth and parental involvement. Our boys and girls basketball teams have begun weekly practice with Mr. Patrick Johnson serving as boys’ coach and Mr. Blake Cassey serving as the girls’ coach. Both of these gentlemen are volunteer coaches. We are excited about selecting our first Ingram Sowell Cheerleading squad with faculty members Mrs. Mary Beth Pettus and Mrs. Gracie Hickman serving as sponsors. Mrs. Theresa Marston (3rd grade teacher) has started a “Cooking Club” and plans to meet once a month to teach and reinforce these life skills. Our 5th and 6th grade teachers have organized a community service leadership club called the Anchors’ Association. Presently, they have initiated a can- food drive with all donations to be given to God’s Storehouse. We welcome your participation in this effort and have donation receptacles in the school lobby. Our monthly PTO meetings have witnessed good attendance. Please make plans to attend future monthly meetings which are each second Tuesday of each month at 5:30pm.
