Ingredients: 5 gallon bucket with lid (clean) 1 box of Zote Soap - TopicsExpress

Ingredients: 5 gallon bucket with lid (clean) 1 box of Zote Soap shredded (only going to use 1/2 box) 1 box of Borax Laundry Booster (only going to use 1 cup) Extremely Hot Water (almost to a boil hot) Directions: Pour half the box of Zote Soap in the bucket. (1 box does 2 buckets of Laundry Soap) Get a big pot of water to almost a boil and pour in the bucket over the soap. Stir to dissolve the soap flakes. Add 2 more pots of hot water. At this point add 1 cup of Borax and stir to dissolve. Finish filling bucket with hot water. Stir one last time then cover the bucket with its lid. Set it to one side and let it completely cool.....About 24 hours.....Mixture will thicken and gel up. Once mixture cools completely it is now ready to use :) Use 1/2 cup to a cup to each load of clothes being washed. Optional: You could add fabric softner to the mix to change the smell of the soap, but it isnt necessary. If you add the fabric softner only add 1 cup. Everything can be found in the Laundry aisle.....I have found the pre-shredded Zote soap in the Mulberry Wal-Mart! I paid just under $3.00 for the soap and the same for the Borax totaling $6.00. And 1 bucket does about 80-120 loads of clothes depending on how much you use at one time. I did the math. I use to buy the large box of Gain detergent that does 120 loads for $15. For that same $15 I can make 5 buckets of laundry soap and if I get 80 loads per bucket that is 400 LOADS!!!!!! Please feel free to share :)
