Innovations in our Deen The winds of change blow hard and fierce Trying to destroy, dissolve, push down and pierce That which was was establish, strengthened, strong By those who commanded the good, forbade the wrong In times gone by stood men, noble, wise, and true Men who fought with courage, for me and you Gave to us a way to follow, a standard, a mold Helped to preserve our deen, our method, our ways of old Ways that bought forth honor, respect, and dignity Ways that raised us high, helped the blind to see Ways based upon the Quran, upon an authentic methodology Ways based upon the Sunnah, as understood by those who preceded you and me Now growing winds of innovation, kufr and shirk Blow freely in the open, away from where once it lurked Whispering into the hearts of common men Teaching whats new is better than what they had back then Calling us to blindly follow those who speak with no proof Like calling one to cover from the rain, in a house with no roof Calling to follow their shaykh, their path, their group Calling us away from the established Sunnah, is the degree they stoop Some they hide in the clothing of men of knowledge Beside their name is their degree, their title, their school, their college Flaunting their accomplishments, as if to say I know better, look at me, follow my way Allaah sent down the Quran, a criterion, His Kalaam To His noble messenger Muhammed (alaihi salaam) Who explained it thoroughly, concisive and clear And seen it implemented by his companions who were there So be like those who chose to enter Noahs ark Be like those who chose light over dark Like those who chose the Sunnah, for it is always better Run from the house with no roof thatll just get you wetter Run to the way that is established, strong and pure Run to the Sunnah, away from the doubtful and obscure Run to the way of the early generations Run away from all the shirk, kufr and innovations For the winds of change blow hard and fierce Trying to destroy, dissolve, push down and pierce That which was was establish, strengthened, strong By those who commanded the good, forbade the wrong { AbuZubayr }
