Insert #28 season 5 Busisiwe “Perfect! It suits you. Lets take it!” Asanda hesitantly followed Busisiwe to the counter. She side-eyed the price tag which hung on the dress & swallowed a huge lump in her throat. This was the first time she got anything at a boutique this expensive. Busisiwe took out her wallet from her Red Gucci hand bag. She browsed through her credit cards & finally took one out & the lady behind the counter swiped. “Are you taking the platform heel too?” The lady asked. “Yes” Busisiwe answered. “Please sign for me” the lady begged. After they were done Asanda carried her shopping bags & smiled in gratitude. Asanda “ndiyabulela sisBusi” Busisiwe “only a pleasure nana. Youre graduating in a few months time, what are your plans?” Asanda “well I havent quite thought beyond my graduation, andizazi nyani ba ndifuna uthini.” Busisiwe “There are paying internships emsebenzini you could always apply khona & nam ndingathetha noGilbert & pull a few strings for you to avoid going through all those formalities, well, thats if youre interested” Asanda was enlightened “of cause Im interested sisi! Thank you! Thank you so much.” she couldnt help but think about how she & Sindiswa had always planned out their lives. Meeting their rich & handsome prince charming & living happily ever after. But this was the real world & unfortunately the real world didnt play out like that- not by a long shot. She reminisced of how Sindiswa always wanted to work at a law firm-probably one of the many reason why she fell for Vuyani. Vuyani had probably promised to be a ladder in her success, amongst the many promises that followed after that, like his promise to leave his wife for her to name but a few. She was gullible & fell for his web of lies & unfulfilled promises, losing herself & the true ideals of working hard & achieving for your own future through persistence & perseverance because at the end of the day, Vuyani went home to a beautiful, educated, successful career driven wife & left Sindiswa living in a fantasy world which existed in her own head, a fantasy that had manifested itself into an extreme level of desperation. She took a very deep sigh. &snapped out of her daunting bitter-sweet trail of thought when she heard her phone ring. It was an incoming call from Sinazo & she ignored it & carried on with life, really, she wasnt about to ruin a good day by listening to Sinazos soppy excuses & apologies & quite frankly she was tired from always being the ever- ready- to- come- to- the- rescue- scapegoat for all her friends. She made a mental note to self never to take anyone in again. Busisiwe suggested they go see a movie & she couldnt agree more. Her phone rang numerous times that she couldnt help but wonder why Sinazo wasnt giving up. She couldnt quite fathom why she was bothered, “what if she was in trouble” she thought to herself but soon banish the thought & rejected the call! It was time to have a back bone & it was time Sinazo learnt her lesson. Busisiwe was on her tablet half the time & took long business calls. They got to the cinema & got their tickets & popcorn. While they were waiting for the movie to start Asandas phone vibrated, it was Sinazo again & for some inexplicable reason still unknown to her till this very day, she still cared & picked up . Sinazo tried talking & explaining the mess she was in. Her voice was in a very low tone & shaky state, she heaved as to catch her breath in between her words & moaned in agony from time to time. The pain was excruciating and unbearable as she desperately tried explaining what had happened. Asanda “yima Sinazo uphi ngoku?” Sinazo “ndise toilet eskolweni” Asanda “look stay put, try breathing, dont move, touch or pull anything out , Ill call you an ambulance uyeva?” There was grave silence. Asanda “Sinazo! Sinazo!..damn it!” She hung up. Busisiwe “haibo yintoni?” Asanda briefly explained what was going on. Busisiwe “Thiiiiiiixo wam lomntana!” Asanda “ndiyakucela sis Busi, can we go there what if the ambulance arrives late!” Busisiwe was quiet for a second. “Hey, masileqisa” They abandoned their movie & rushed out to the parking lot. They got inside the car & sped off. All the while Asanda was calling Sinazo & she wasnt picking up. Nerves resurfaced & her heart started racing. Busisiwe “nana khawufonele iambulance ngoba inga yenye into ba singafoneli ambulance sifike pha sekukubi” Asanda quietly nodded & called. The call was placed on hold due to busy lines. Asanda was besides herself with frustration. Why was she the one to always be subjected to such ordeals. She typed frantically on her phone & sent one of the lecturers a text message. The lecture called immediately & explained that he was out of town “shame, poor thing! Call an ambulance because nam andikho Im on sick leave” the lecturer added. Asanda “okay thanks, sorry for bothering you.” She hung up & shrugged. They finally got to school. Asanda ran inside & Busisiwe paced behind her while making tireless attempts to get help. She finally got on the line & explained what was going on & help was on the way. Asanda got inside the ladies and paced inside each & every toilet cubicle calling out for Sinazo. She reached the last one & found that it was closed, but not locked. Asanda “Sinazo! Sinazo! Vula ndim uAsanda!” She took a deep breathe & plucked up the courage to go inside completely unaware of the what she would confront. She pushed the door open & found Sinazo laying unconsciously in a pool of blood & clots. It was evident that she had lost a huge amount of blood. She cringed, mortified & staggered at what her eyes were witnessing. Asanda “Sinazo! Sinazo” she shook her. She felt her pulse. Her heart beat was still beating steadily. She covered her mouth & tears immediately threatened her eyes. The sight of that little innocent & lifeless figure still attached to the her umbilical cord tormented her soul. Everytime she would close her eyes she still vividly saw an image of that little innocent human figure. It was pale & it curled itself in between her legs. With its little premature spine showing. You could see its little premature limbs. It formed a C-shaped figure & although the pills she took deformed it ,it still held a rigid & visible human figure & appearance. Busisiwe arrived to the scene. The sight stopped her right in her tracks & she ran to the sink & threw up. Asanda began crying silently. There was blood everywhere. The paramedics finally arrived, they collected everything. Busisiwe & Asanda were flushed!.....
