Inspired by the schools STEM Club, many students at Tukwila Elementary yesterday participated in the Hour of Code, a worldwide effort to encourage and empower students (and everyone!) to try their hand at the universal and important language of computer programming. Currently, we have students in coding/tech clubs at all of our elementary schools and coding classes at both secondary schools. Here is fifth-grader Faisal talking about his experience coding a program that allowed him to control an Angry Birds game. Its more than fun. Its EXTREMELY AWESOME.
