Inspired this afternoon by a great pastor... A pastor who didnt look, speak, or sound the part. A pastor who walked into a city and refused to conform to their ways. A pastor who refused to make decisions based on their understanding (wisdom, eloquence, sophism). This was a pastor who wasnt worried about making an old (and what they would consider foolish) story relevant, or speak in a manner that would please them (in fact he did the opposite). A pastor who knew that power comes through the word of God alone, and not in systems, events, smoke and mirrors, prosperity, or concerts. A pastor who could hardly stand because of the beatings he had received during his ministry (Acts 14-17). A pastor who shook and trembled because he didnt want to receive any of the glory for himself that would result from him preaching the word of Jesus Christ. Ladies and gents, I present to you the apostle Paul. (1 Corinthians 2:1-5) Thats some motivation!
