Install Photos! These art mural pieces by local artist Barbara Maslen were created to be bright, colorful, joyful imagery celebrating the rich agricultural heritage of Riverhead. Over the summer, they were initially installed in Downtown Riverhead, directly on the sidewalk as part of our 2014 JumpstART program and public art event. Now for the winter months they have been moved to indoor locations at Suffolk County National Bank branches on 2nd Ave and Ostrander Ave in Riverhead, and also at the Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. JumpstART is an innovative public art project by East End Arts embracing the concept of #CreativePlacemaking, a collaboration of business and artists to nuture an enduring sense of place, while also providing artists with resources to learn the fundamentals of growing and promoting their business... their art! ART4ALL2C is a project developed by artist Barbara Maslen with the goal of placing original art in public spaces, “for all to see” as they go about their everyday activities. Visit the murals while they reside in their winter homes for the next 6 months!
