Installment #3; Bluegrass poster. Now I need a sky. Of course Ive got this huge folder with all sorts of skys/clouds/sunsets/rises/etc. and of those I narrowed things down to the two you see below. Yep, the sky on the left is much more dramatic and colorful than the one of the right. So I went with the less-dramatic one on the right. Why? Well, because in all of this stuff, you have to keep the end result in mind during the process. I have to have somewhere to but a Big Bold, un-destracted, easy-to-read Bluegrass and Chili Festival headline. And the more dramatic sky was just too much competition. If you make a beautiful design and nobody can read what its advertising... you have failed, no matter how beautiful the design. But you are maybe starting to get a feel for this thing.
