Instead of worrying about the BLM spending our taxpayer dollars on shelters for captive wild horses and burros that most of them are acclimated (that means ADAPTED TO) the environment in which they live and were captured from where they lived their whole lives in mostly the DESERT with sagebrush and sand, I hope the wild horse and burro advocates figure out that what the wild horses and burros REALLY NEED are aggressive, hard-hitting lobbyists to represent them in Washington D.C. where all of the decisions are made, and where the factions that want the horses and burros GONE are telling their powerful, aggressive lobbyists to push for SLAUGHTER for OUR (the publics) wild horses and burros, who are mandated by LAW to remain free roaming and primarily managed in their Herd Management Areas (HMAs) on PUBLIC LAND. Id rather see the horses and burros remain primarily free roaming on their native, rightful, and lawful land, then have money spent on shelters (and yes everyone, we do pretty much have to choose since the BLM is always crying were broke, and the shelter issue has become a distraction and decoy while other decisions are being made that put our wild horses and burros, both wild and captive, in grave danger) that are fairly pathetic from what Ive seen, and that only a small fraction of the horses, and perhaps a few more of the burros, will even use..... In other words, Id rather have the wild horses and burros, both wild, and also in captivity, alive rather than dead by inhumane and cruel commercial horse slaughter.
