Intense hike today up Mt. Longenot - volcano which last erupted in 1860; peak altitude 9,180 ft and crater circumference 7.2 km; name derived from Maasi word oloonongot, meaning mountains of many spurs or steep ridges - and this was certainly the case. In the photos, the crater base looks like grass or bushes, but these are actually full-size trees (just to give some scale to its true enormity). After we recovered, Rachel and I just had to sample some grilled goat at a very local establishment! Enjoy!
