Intense, surprising Donny Osmond Interview with Piers Morgan. Back when I was little, I was envious of his success. I wanted everything he had during his early peak. I wanted that kind of show business / in-the-spotlight life. I had the albums, watched the TV show, etc., trying to figure out how to somehow get all that myself, wanting the kind of life he had then. But I was just a little kid in a small Illinois town raised by extremely strict parents who never wanted me to have those kinds of dreams and did not want me in show business at all beyond maybe just some school plays and putting on occasional kid shows in our backyard (which is what I did, of course - the shows in the backyard were my idea. So was pursuing being in the school plays). But watching this interview, I did not realize how tough that kind of life would have been. I had no idea Donny had been through so much. There are times in this interview hes about to break down crying when talking about his troubles, and you can see he led a very restrictive life and always wanted to open up about many things, but couldnt, and in some areas still cant. Yet he maintains a lot of inner strength, handles things extremely well while being very down-to-earth, and keeps his composure. I always really appreciate people who are very open and honest about both their good times, and their bad times - who arent afraid of being vulnerable.
