Intercontinental Trophy Cup Restructures and adds The 5Hundred Corsa Cup for 2015 INDIANAPOLIS 07.21.2014: After last weekend’s successful launch of the 5Hundred Corsa Cup (500CC) based on the FIAT 500 Abarth, this new series is being offered into a newly restructured Intercontinental Trophy Cup Racing Series (ITC) as an Entry-level series. The staff is hard at work making the world aware of its big intentions for 2015. ITC has restructured itself, and is currently working its mid-season 2014 schedule adding the 5Hundred Corsa Cup for a scheduled season of growth in 2015. In its fourth year of competition ITC continues to evolve and is capturing the passion and drive of the motorsport competitor. This, while keeping an eye on the original goal of creating a ladder program, with a clear and defined path for a driver to expose themselves to the multiple facets of the motor sporting disciplines. Launched last weekend, 500CC will be the third offering of ITC. This has spawned the restructuring of the original ITC to become the parent company and sanctioning body over the series’ three offerings. The newly renamed Porsche Cayman series, now with new logo and name of Trophy Cup Racing Series, is the base for the expansion of offerings. Trophy Cup will be joined in 2015 by the new FIAT series and the current endurance format of the North American Endurance Challenge Series. The 5Hundred series is working to create a set of regulations very similar to those currently running in Europe. With a series specification of 190HP and 2100lbs, the cars are sure to be fit for speed and an exhilarating ride! “Andiamo Veloce VROOM VROOM!!!” has become the series’ internal motivator and has become the catalyst of excitement for the team and those who hear of the new series. This type of enthusiasm will surely be contagious as they target younger drivers for the series. They have also developed a new scoring system to track a drivers’ successes and history of his/her efforts to truly showcase their talents. 500CC will run a 6 round 12 race regular season with a championship round culminating the season at the new Corvette Museum track currently under development in Bowling Green Kentucky. Drivers taking advantage of the series’ arrive and drive program will be able to compete at the top level of the series for $7500.00US per event. With that in mind, a driver will get a huge bang for the buck and a lot of VROOM VROOM for a very competitive budget in comparison to the current offerings.
