Interesting Phonecall this morning and a Warning to all!! Apparantly the chap calling me (who didnt speak very good english) was from Microsoft Technical Support Department... claiming I had a number of reported faults being picked up by the Microsoft Server... he directed me to an event log on my laptop that showed up apparant errors NOW THIS IS WHERE THEY GET YA!!!! He was then going on that he needed remote access to be able to correct the errors and ensure I had no Malware or Viruses etc etc... MMMMMM a little suspicious was I... So I googled Microsoft Tech Support and phoned them whilst still having my friendly (foreign... cant really speak English.. But his name was ED!!) on the phone... actually he had now got his Senior Support Manager on the phone to me to REASSURE he was Genuinely from Microsoft on the phone... he was called Frank!! (couldnt speak English either!!) By this time I am having a lovely conversation with Glen (American) who is genuinely from Microsoft Technical Support as I phoned HIM!! Guess What Glen told me.... Its a Scam and if I had allowed them remote access they would have downloaded Malware to lock me out of my computer and then demand money from me to unlock it... or they would just download software that tracked your online activity and eventually would access all your passwords, personal data etc etc and just probably empty your bank accounts So I kindly got back on the phone to Frank & Ed and told them to politely $*&! :)! Glen told me that apparantly all computers will run the errors that they highlighted and is nothing to really worry about.
