Interesting academic commentary on child raising in modern day American culture: According to some, this multitude of opinions [on child rearing] creates anxiety in parents at the very time when the health and welfare of their children are more secure than they ever were. Its funny, we have so much information these days that instead of it being a huge help, it becomes a source of tension and anxiety, a source of arguments, because suddenly that thing youve been doing for forever might just damage your childs psyche according to some psychologist, something not even considered when children had other more imminent dangers. Just an interesting line of thought.
