Interesting article in the Dallas Morning News yesterday about the sentiment in some of Eastern Colorado wanting to form their own state. Part of the reasoning from one Eastern CO rancher is the cities are destroying the way of life for the ranchers and farmers and wants his kids to enjoy and live his heritage. Which part of his heritage? Does he go back to his grandaddy and the ranch? Or, does he go back to his great grandaddy, or great great grandaddy when they killed hundreds of thousands and took their land. Is his heritage fifty years ago, or is it Sand Creek? That heritage thing is relative to the individual and usually quits when the recollection gets to the wanton killing, genocide, and enslavement. Same in New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Arizona, etc. Make your own state with about ninety thousand people; then you wont have Denver, Boulder, and CO City to pay for everything. Live your heritage, with outhouses and kerosene lamps. Jerk.
