Interesting fact: virtually every single miracle in the Bible, - TopicsExpress

Interesting fact: virtually every single miracle in the Bible, including miracles done by the hands of angels, etc., were either done by a prophet or a servant of God, and were never done until a prophet had at least released the decree for it to be done. Thats because God gave this world to men, and so since that was his order, he always does what he does through men. You might think that Im stretching that statement, but if you think there were any miracles God just did without using a man in some way to do it, feel free to cite them. If you can find one, I want to see it myself, because I cant find one yet. The scripture says that God will do nothing unless he reveals it first to his servants the prophets. We also see that there are prophets in the New Testament period, who are repeatedly referred to in Acts, and that one of the offices in a congregation is that of prophet. Yes, the scripture says that God speaks to us by his Son now, and in times past spoke by prophets, but here are two things about that: 1. It doesnt say that God no longer speaks to us by prophets - it says that He has spoken to us by His Son. There is no negative about prophets - there is a positive about Jesus. 2. Jesus is the great prophet (and much more), and Rev. 19:10 says that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. So any prophet who speaks now is going to be speaking by the Spirit of Christ. Some people think God doesnt use men to do things now, but only does things by divine intervention, but the Bible flatly shows that this is completely false, because it completely defies the entire order God always used, and which was recorded in the entire Bible. Not to mention, there have been prophets of Jesus Christ operating for 2,000 years, including Polycarp, Martin of Tours, Columba of Iona, Francis of Assisi, John Knox, George Fox, John Lake, and many more. There have also been countless minor prophets. As for those who do believe in the power of God today in people, lets remember that Paul said Greater is he who prophesies than he who speaks in tongues, so those who claim to be Pentecostals and Charismatics also need to realize it is time to move into what God is doing - opening up a prophetic movement throughout the world. We need to get on board this train. We are moving into a dark era where people will need more than just a basic knowledge of the Bible to endure without being overcome, and where people who do operate in gifts will need to be doing more than just speaking in tongues here and there, in order to survive the darkness. We need to get ready.
