Interesting how a completely disrespectful coffee cup salute - TopicsExpress

Interesting how a completely disrespectful coffee cup salute conjures such a stir, when nobody seems to care about how the executive branch continues to usurp the Constitutional Power of Congress to Declare War. Do we all trust that were hearing the entire truth? After the Gulf of Tonkin lie in Vietnam and the WMDs that werent in Iraq, should we really believe everything the government tells us without proof? The protections of the Press and free speech, and our right to bear arms, and the divisions of powers and checks and balances are all safeguards against government abuse. The coffee cup salute is emblematical of the Executives disregard for the men and women who will have to pay the tab for his actions. We owe it to the men and women in uniform to exercise our rights as citizens in a representative government to make dam sure that if we send them we know everything we should. Is it fair for our soldiers to fight against an enemy that has been armed by international corporate military contractors? Our government ordered our Military to train many of the people that our Military is now asked to fight. Is this fair to our Military? Dont they deserve better? This is only possible because we are not dialed in, we let the Executive do what he wants without our consent. Isnt that more of an outrage than a coffee cup salute? A Congressional Vote to go to War is our opportunity to weigh in and give our salute to the Troops. We let mega corporations dupe us uproot the safeguards of our financial system, and we as taxpayers bailed them out. With the same disregard that international corporations look for every tax shelter and tax loophole, they expect our Troops to bail them out with disregard to the blood of our service men and women as well as the millions of innocent lives that will be lost if the conflict gets out of hand. If international corporations choose to ship their manufacturing oversees, let them defend and protect their own interests on their own dime, perhaps they might be a little less abusive to the Nations they operate in. When we as a people cheer when we see that were kicking somebodys ass, even if they dont know who it is and if innocent people are killed, we certainly are not a civilized Nation with Christian values. The greatest threat to Christianity is not Islam, it is the War Mongers that try to tell you that all Muslims (1 out of every 4 people on the face of the earth) are evil. Christ taught us to love one another as he has loved us. How can Christ dwell in your heart if you believe that 1 in every 4 people in the World is evil? Here is Paul Wellstones warning about undermining our financial safeguards and how that could create a global financial meltdown. Well he was exactly right, that irresponsible policy created one. The same stupidity could cause a global War and that is not the do over we wish we had. Representative Governments were put into place by People for People. In our Melting Pot of a Nation, we should understand by now that People are People. Weve been to enough interfaith weddings and seen beautiful children play together of different faiths and ethnicities to know what is right. https://youtube/watch?v=2lrNCsKHXGw
