Interesting interview of a St. Petersburg psychiatrist on the Kosenko case with, in my view, pretty good conclusions. The main issue where one could disagree is that a return to political abuse of psychiatry is not possible because of openness of Russian psychiatry. Yes, it is much more open than in Soviet times, but the main issue remains that the majority of Russian psychiatrists do not know a foreign language, have no access to international psychiatric literature and thus do not know how far their psychiatry deviated from the international norm and is seriously lagging behind...
