Interesting...the rhythmic gymnastics quality of contemporary twirling is spectacular, but the actual twirling skills (rolls not withstanding) seems to be at a far lesser technical ability than when I was in twirling 33 years ago. Of course, when I was twirling in high school, the band directors wife wasnt a big fan of how twirling had evolved since shed been in high school back in the 1940s, either.
