The men won the respect of every team at IC14 after playing almost the entire match with only 17 players, the result of a red card to one of our defenders in the first five minutes after accidental but strong contact to the head of an Ireland player. Despite having one less player than their opponents on the ground for the rest of the game, the Fiji Tribe was evenly matched with Ireland for much of the game. However, the experience of the two-time International Cup winning Irish showed and they were able to score freely at times, with the final score not a true reflection of the closeness of the match. The women were also up against a much more experienced Irish team, but the Vonu battled strongly throughout their first ever International Cup match and were rewarded with a goal in the final quarter that brought the house down.
