International Migrants Day is coming up (December 18), and IOM MENA is looking forward to the release of Crossroads, a documentary on #migrants traveling to, through, and from Egypt. The 30 minute documentary film (shot by Albert Farran) presents the stories of six migrants, and the soon-to-be-launched Crossroads website is comprised of photos, videos, and texts that document the migrants’ experiences. Migrants moving in North Africa are often vulnerable and experience considerable abuse and exploitation including increasing numbers of migrants being trafficked. The project is a product of MMTF-NOAH (Mixed Migration Task Force for the north-eastern African migratory route and North Africa). MMTF-NOAH consists of key international and regional actors working in this field, with IOM, UNHCR, OHCHR, Danish Refugee Council and Nairobi-based Regional Mixed Migration Secretariat as founding members, and aims to promote a human rights-based approach to ensure the protection of people moving in mixed and complex flows along the route Watch the trailer (in English): https://youtube/watch?v=ywhRxk_4og4
