International Women’s Day 2014 This week SureStart Edenballymore is acknowledging local women who make a difference every day in our community by distributing thank you gift bags to local school crossing patrol women, female taxi drivers, local mothers, grannies, daughters and aunts as part of International Women’s Day celebrations. The idea to create and distribute the gift bags to local women came from our very successful Random Acts of Love Campaign which is about sharing how happiness & love are good for our brains as they release endorphins and oxytocin, the chemicals that boost our happiness and trust in one another and not only for those receiving but for those who give kindness too. We hope to recognise and acknowledge the women in our community by making them feel special, even if only for a moment. We’ll have workers distributing the Gift Bags throughout the area and we’re delighted that women taxi drivers are supporting our effort by giving Gift Bags to women they meet during their work. Watch out for us out & about today!
