International Youth Day - August 12 organized by the United Nations International Youth Day is commemorated every year on August 12. The United Nations Focal Point on Youth selects a theme for the day with input from youth organizations and members of the UN Inter-Agency Network in Youth development (still to be announced for 2013). It also organizes a commemoration of the Day at United Nations Headquarters in New York. Youth around the world are encouraged to organize activities that raise awareness about the situation of youth in their country and highlight organizations, programs, and policies that support youth leadership.
