International election observers in Azerbaijan to hold press conference on Thursday BAKU, 9 October 2013 – The international observers monitoring the presidential elections in Azerbaijan will present their preliminary post-election statement at a news conference on Thursday, 10 October, in Baku. The international election observation is a common endeavor involving the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA) The statement will be delivered by Michel Voisin, the Special Co-ordinator to lead the short-term OSCE observer mission, followed by Tana de Zulueta, the Head of the OSCE/ODIHR long-term election observation mission. The International Election Observation Mission comprises some 350 observers from 40 countries, including 319 long-term and short-term observers deployed by the OSCE/ODIHR, as well as 26 parliamentarians and staff from the OSCE PA. Journalists are invited to attend the news conference on Thursday, 10 October, at 14:30, in the Guba Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency hotel, 1 Bakikhanov Prospekt, Baku.
