#International_Human_Rights_Day??? When 10 December was declared a human rights day and further made international in 1950,Afrikan countries were still under the colony of European countries.Afrikans at a time were living under white conditions, made slaves in their own land of birth and they had no right of entry to the most affluent land in their countries.Racial laws were imposed against their will Rights and forced to accept that they were inferior than the whites. It was apparent to bring to the attention ‘of the people of the world’ the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as the common standard of achievement for all people and all nations. But how do you declare something international if its not practiced and enjoyed by all?Or was it specifically for a certain group/race /tribe to celebrate while window dressing the situation? If we are all to be realistic,International rights day was supposed to be declared when the last country of the world gain its hard earned democracy of its people and land.It was suppose to be declared when every single individual was fully free,if we are to truly talk about international rights. For those cerebrating this day today in Africa,Namibia to be specific,Think about the events that were happening in our country such as the Windhoek massacre in 1959,Contract labour system in 1943 which continued even when this day was declared,Omugulugwombashe in 1966 ,Remember Kasinga in 1978 just to mention a few.... Celebrate your day,but for me,our forefathers and fallen mothers were not part of this day. They were not included. At that time when they talked about their rights theyll be jailed, beaten and tortured. Young ones learn, analyze and make your own conclusions>>>>Its Your Right. Id rather be grieving than celebrating. This day is not for us. #The_Struggle_Continues
